As an astrologer, people will usually ask if there is ‘something going on’ in the stars that can explain what is happening in their personal lives. People often believe that the microcosm of their daily lives reflects the macrocosm of the rest of the world and even the universe.
That connection gets clearer as we start to understand the patterns and influences found in astrology. For example, the personal planets—Mars, Venus and Mercury—move quickly around the sun, and because of that, have a more direct impact on our day-to-day lives.
On the other hand, the outer planets, like Pluto, move more slowly, affecting entire generations as they stay longer in one astrological sign. Over the past 15 years, Pluto has been travelling through Capricorn. Pluto brings transformation to any sign that it visits. Its time in Capricorn brought about shifts in how we understand societal structures, success and tradition.
Since 2008, we have moved beyond the early days of MySpace and Facebook, with social media evolving into a platform for independent journalism and an integrated global information resource. It has brought previously overlooked realities to the forefront, giving marginalized voices a platform while exposing the darker sides of humanity.
We exist in echo chambers while having the entire world at our fingertips. Fifteen years ago, it was hard to become a content creator, launch a podcast, or live as a digital nomad. With Capricorn’s influence, we have seen shifts in how we structure our personal lives and connect with others. Digital social platforms have been the foundation for this transformation.
Yet, we are on the verge of another astrological shift. On Nov. 19, Pluto will move out of Capricorn and into Aquarius—the sign of innovation, rebellion and humanitarian ideals. Over the last 15 years, we have seen how technology has restructured how we understand the world. With Pluto entering Aquarius, this process of transformation is far from over. In the next decade and a half, we can anticipate an exponential change in our technological and communication capabilities as Pluto moves under the electric influence of Aquarius.

It is time to reflect on the past 15 years—on what we have learned, what structures we have built and what connections we have made.
As Pluto moves into Aquarius, our social, intellectual and technological landscape will undergo further transformation. The question we should be asking ourselves is: how do we want the next 15 years to look?
If Aquarius is about collective liberation and individual empowerment, you can expect shifts in the impacts of your actions and how they contribute to the larger whole. If the micro is the macro, how can we, as individuals, make the greatest impact within the context of this ever-evolving, interconnected world?
