Greber – New Losers (single)

City: Cambridge

Genre: Grindcore, Sludge Metal

As nearly 15-year veterans in the Waterloo Region’s hardcore, metal and punk scene, Greber have established themselves as one of the loudest duos in the area. Consisting of Steve Vargas on drums and vocals and Marc Bourgon on bass and vocals, the two members deliver a belligerent and disorienting mash-up of sludge metal and hardcore grind on their newest single New Losers

Living Room for Small – CLOUD 9 (single)

Release Date: Oct. 1

City: Waterloo

Genre: Alternative Pop

Living Room for Small returns with a spacey and anthemic single to follow up their debut album PRETTY LITTLE DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, which released in April 2024. CLOUD 9 fits seamlessly within the discography of the band as catchy vocal melodies, courtesy of Nathan Forler, remain at the forefront of their sound.

Hank – Living Between Peacocks and Bones (LP)

Release Date: Oct.14

City: Kitchener

Genre: Indie Pop

Originally formed in 2002 by Jeremy Singer (co-owner of The Yeti Cafe), Hank is a band that has taken many shapes over the years. The current iteration of Hank features a septet of members from across Southern Ontario who have come together to create an infectiously energetic pop album.

Wedge – Big Reveal (EP)

Release Date: Oct. 25

City: Kitchener

Genre: Hardcore Punk

On the evening of the release of their debut EP, Big Reveal, Wedge gathered to play in front of a sold-out room at The Union, a new music venue in Kitchener. The crowd was immediately incensed and a frenzy ensued that would not cease until the end of their set. The release includes six tracks spanning just 12 minutes and features a vicious blend of hardcore, punk, and metal.

Petrochemicals – How To Eat A Lobster (single)

Release Date: Oct. 26

City: Kitchener

Genre: Industrial, Synth Punk

Self-described as “Kitchener based synth trash”, Petrochemicals is a relatively new three-piece band in the local scene. Their newest single How To Eat A Lobster is only their second release and features gritty vocals, fuzz-laden guitar, as well as unrelenting synths and drum machines, culminating in something you can easily either dance or mosh to.
